How to fish it
Search likely water with it — seams, foam lines, the heads of pools — even with nothing rising. During a hatch, fish it to specific risers with a drag-free drift. Hang an 18-inch dropper off the bend when the surface is quiet.

The Parachute Adams is grey, which is the point. Almost every mayfly a trout eats is some shade of grey-brown when seen in silhouette from below, and the Adams is close enough to all of them that trout stop trying to tell the difference. The parachute post makes it visible; the horizontal hackle makes it sit right.
Size 16 is the searching size. It works as a hatch match, as a prospecting dry on water with no visible activity, and as a visible indicator for a trailing nymph.
