How to fish it
Fish it in the top two feet during an emergence, or let a deep drift swing up at the end of the run so the fly rises through the column. The lift is often when it gets eaten.

Adding a sparkle wing to a Zebra Midge changes what it represents. The plain version is a pupa in the column; with a wing it becomes a pupa at the point of emergence, gas trapped under the shuck, hanging just below the film. That is the most vulnerable moment in a midge’s life and trout time their feeding to it.
White with a sparkle wing gives you both visibility and the emerger silhouette. Size 20.
