Best on a tight-line rig: lead the fly through the run with the rod tip, keeping a straight line to the fly and watching the sighter. Under an indicator, fish it as the point fly with something smaller above.

The Holy Grail is a modern competition-style nymph: slim, heavy for its size, and finished with a coloured hot spot at the thorax. The body is buggy enough to pass for a caddis pupa or a mayfly nymph, and the hot spot does the work of getting a trout’s attention in a short window of drift.
It is designed for tight-line and euro-nymph presentations where the fly needs to sink fast and be visible to the fish immediately, but it fishes perfectly well under an indicator.
